About this site

The Opus Perpetuum is an independent publication launched in February 2025.

It was born out of a passionate curiosity for life and a playful attitude toward the development of skills, experiences and the refinement of ideas. It is named "The Perpetual Work" because learning, growth and development is indeed perpetual across the lifespan.

My name is TJ and I have a desire to create and contribute something that my readers will find relatable and valuable. The Opus Perpetuum has been an idea of mine for many years. It has only now been granted a name and a space to exist. I have long wanted to claim a space such as this to write and express ideas regarding identity, consciousness, philosophy, experience, technology, science, metaphysics and recreation. It has always been difficult for me to identify myself on or with a single plane. I'm many things, much like you, my readers are. We are not defined by our professions, relationships or even our patterns of being. All of these are subject to change whether by environmental factors or by our own volition. The Opus Perpetuum is an experiment in the exploration of ideas, identity and consciousness. It is a community for discourse. It's an incubator for the development of new skills and new perspectives. It is by nature a place for optimism and play.

The world is changing, thanks to technology such as artificial intelligence, at an exponential rate. Even experts in their respective fields can not reasonably predict what our civilization will be like next year let alone the next decade or century. It is by this line of reason that I've adopted the mindset of a generalist. I want to know as much as I can regarding as many topics as possible. I believe the days of specialization are rapidly coming to an end. It is, in my belief, through this philosophy of the generalist that adaptability to overcome the unforeseen is developed. I hope to cultivate a community of thinkers who gain value from new insights and are challenged in their ways of thinking and being.
